K-pop superstar BTS is all set to deliver special message at the 75th United Nations General Assembly.
In 2018, BTS became the first K-pop group to deliver speech at United Nation. Yet again, BTS has been invited to deliver the message of hope at the 75th United Nations General Assembly. The UN General Assembly takes place on September 23 at 9 AM ET (10 PM KST/6:15 PM NST).
The Korean Committee for UNICEF announced, “BTS will deliver the message of hope during the high-level meeting of the UN Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security on September 23 at 9 AM ET (10 p.m. KST), Wednesday.”
In 2020, South Korea launched UN Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security to discuss on different health security issues. It includes 40 UN member states, with South Korea, Denmark, Sierra Leone, Qatar and Canada as co-chairs.
At the Assembly, BTS will talk about difficulties our future generation will face due to COVID-19 pandemic. This will mark BTS’s second time speaking at the UN General Assembly. The group delivered their speech at the launch ceremony of UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited at the 73rd UN General Assembly in 2018.
Since 2017, BTS has worked with UNICEF on campaign “Love Yourself” to end violence against youths. The group is also making donation and delivering different message to give hope to youngsters.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the 75th UN General Assembly will be held through virtual meetings and pre-recorded speeches.
